I really don’t have anyway of uploading the actual videos and allowing for them to be viewed through this blog; so what I’ve done is converted a sample video to a very small animated gif. Keep in mind that this format is limited to 256 shades of gray. There is much more detail in the actual video.. Nonetheless, I thought it would be interesting to see what I’ve been doing with my new camera, besides shooting stills. :)
My friend, to whom that living room belongs to, went out of town for the weekend and asked that I watch over her house a bit. She also encouraged me to shoot there again, but it was pretty short notice, and I really didn’t have anything lined up.. So, I did a quick search through my list of people I’d like to photograph, and sent out a message to 2 people I haven’t ever had the chance to meet.. I, surprisingly, received an affirmative response from one, and shot her the next evening. Thank god(just an expression).. She was great, and I got to keep my brain from wandering off into the abyss, for at least an evening. Thanks Stevie, for letting me use your place, and Michelle, for shooting with someone you didn’t even know. :)
As I said last week.. This shoot began around 7pm, a bit before sunset. Before setting up the lighting equipment, we used what available light we had coming through the windows to capture a few test images.. 1600 iso, and a big window is all you need..
While testing the new camera, a Canon 5dMkII, and my 17-35L lens, I shot this and decided to share.. This was taken at f/2.8 @1/3s.. Iso 1600.. I zoomed in while holding the camera as steady as I could, which obviously proved to be nearly impossible.. Nonetheless, it’s still interesting to see what can be accomplished with this camera in the dark. I’ll post more as the tests continue.
So much has happened since I’ve come back from NY.. For one, I sold my car, and bought another. Two, I’ve purchased a motorcycle, but have not picked it up as of yet. Three, I’ve finally managed to purchase my Canon 5dmkII. Granted, now everyone I know is subject to me using them for test shots.. A walk back from the pool tonight, and a silver tongue helped create this quick shot. I love the new camera.
I have so many images that visually imply so much more than what they are. Two models, doing their best to cover what would theoretically make this image obscene, to some. Does it work?
